How Canada Has Handled COVID
Despite the United States being the current epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada ranked within the top 20 safest countries in the fight against coronavirus. When the Deep Knowledge Network group took 130 qualitative and quantitative qualifiers, they learned how Canada ranked in 12th place among more than 200 other countries with its collective score at 699. Meanwhile, the United States ranked in 58th place with a score of 530 points. This most likely comes from the mishandling of the COVID-19 epidemic under the current administration.
The Factors for Ratings
When they looked at some of the factors for ratings, they included a variety of factors like:
- Monitoring and detection
- Quarantine efficiency
- Government efficiency
- Health readiness
The ultimate goal behind the study was to classify, rank and analyze the different factors involved in the safety of the current pandemic. They looked at different factors like economic, social and health stability to determine these things. That becomes especially important after the emerging of the current pandemic.
Resource for Governments
One of the things that this can do is to serve as a type of resource for governments on how to address the current situation. The ultimate goal behind it is to maintain the health and wellbeing of everyone involved. Meanwhile, they want to reverse the collateral damage that has taken place because many people have suffered on a health basis, but the other dangers have come from the economic threat. Canada’s unemployment rate has reached an all-time high at 13.7 percent, which should highlight the damages that this pandemic has had on the people. It has caused a lot of people to suffer greatly during this time.
Israel took home the top ranking spot with Germany and Switzerland following up. The thing that probably put Israel near the top came from the fact that their medical care ranks among some of the best in the world, which makes them well prepared to handle a pandemic. Knowledge about this virus continues to increase every day, and that makes it much easier to battle against as people grow increasingly knowledgeable about it. Different countries deserve honorable mentions, however, and South Korea set the standard when they began mass testing that turned things around when the pandemic first broke out.
